Wood Burning Projects
Medusa Commission
Vending at an art event in Pittsburgh, my vending neighbor sold these amazing bags. I had to have one custom made. I talked with the bag vendor and found out that she is a huge Medusa fan. I asked if we could do an art swap. I would create a wood burned Medusa piece for her, in exchange for one of her rock-n-roll patch bags. She agreed! My wood burned Medusa, now hangs on her wall of Medusa art! Win Win!
The Sea Serpent wood burning
Nautical stories of giant creatures living and swimming below the bow of a vessel are so inspiring. Imagine what lurks in the depths of the oceans. During my wood burning process, I try to create textures within the line work. Serpent scales are so challenging and rewarding to accomplish in the wood media. The combination of waves and scales really add a niece dimension to this work. I need to do more Nautical lore work.
Cthulhu Clock
Our adventure on the high seas continues with this horrifying Cthulhu clock. It’s time to freak out! The old one lurches from the depths to devour a vessel. I just love the perspective on this piece. Makes the creature look so intimidating!
